Seasons at KU

Spring on campus

See how they run

Since 1923 outstanding high-school, collegiate and Olympic athletes from all over North America have competed in the Kansas Relays at Memorial Stadium in late April. All the categories are represented — strength and speed, weight and height, distance and sprint, relay and individual — and records are always broken.

By degrees

The perfect ending to the years of dedication is that May-day walk through the Campanile and down the hill to Memorial Stadium, where the chancellor, faculty, distinguished guests and families help 4,000 or so new degree-holders begin the rest of their lives. Silly hats and flip-flops with staid academic gowns add to the joy of an occasion well worth celebrating.
Spring around Lawrence

The artful life

Radiating from the gazebo in South Park are booths where area artists and artisans display and sell landscape paintings and photographs; hand-thrown pots and platters; quilts, pillows and shawls; lithographs and prints and much more. Take a break from perusing Art in the Park offerings to enjoy local food, beverages and local bands.
